Road Rescue - Melba Hwy Yering
In yet another horror incident, 2 young women were killed when the car they were driving clipped a car, and spun into the path on an oncoming car with a Learner Driver at the wheel, resulting in catastrophic damage to the car, killing both occupants instantly. Ambulance assessed all patients, transporting the 2 occupants of the learners car. Lilydale SES remained on scene to provide Lighting for Victoria Police while Crime Scene analysis was undertaken, and then Lilydale SES personnel extricated the deceased from the vehicle.

Single Vehicle crash - rollover, car on it's roof. Lilydale SES crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and removed the doors and assisted the pt out of the vehicle.

2 car crash - Ambulance arrived and requested Rescue and found 1 person trapped. Lilydale SES crew used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove pt from vehicle.

Passerby reported a Hot Air Balloon entangled in trees. On arrival and contact with the original caller, No balloon was found. Appears that no balloon was ever stuck in trees, but was just flying low NEAR trees

Road Rescue - Chirnside Park
2 car crash - T bone. Driver unable to exit vehicle due to impact. On arrival of ambulance, Rescue requested as pts had spinal pain and dri vers side of car needed to be removed for access. In conjunction with Ambulance, side of vehicle removed, and pt access gained. Roof flapped forward to allow full access and pt removed from vehicle on a spine board via the rear of the vehicle.

Truck down driveway and into a garage on the lower property. Pt not trapped but required minor assistance to be removed from the vehicle

Road Rescue - Kinglake
Again, due to the destruction of Kinglake SES, Lilydale SES was called to respond to the Kinglake and had difficulty with access to the scene due to fire activity. Local Fire units attended scene and found nil persons trapped/

Road Rescue - Kinglake
Due to the destruction of the Kinglake unit in the fires only hours earlier, Lilydale SES was called to a crash in Whittlesea - Kinglake rd. This crash received much media attention as it was believed 6 people perished. This was extremely distressing to our members as no services were able to access the initial incident due to substantial Fire activity in the area. Further examination by Police shoed that No Persons were trapped in the wreckage, and there were no fatalities directly from this incident.

Road Rescue - Yarra Glen
Single Vehicle Roll over - occupant deceased on arrival of Ambulance. Due to Significant fire activity in the area from the "Black Saturday" fires, Lilydale SES was unable to access the scene due to fires blocking Melba Hwy at Yering

2 Car Crash - 1 patient extensively trapped. Lilydale SES crews used Hydraulic Rescue Tools to extricate pt and transfer to Ambulance Helicopter for transport to Hospital

Road Rescue - Coldstream
2 Car Head On crash. 1 driver deceased at scene and extensively trapped and driver of 2nd vehicle also trapped. SES used hydraulic Rescue equipment and Air tools to remove a section of the roof to facilitate the removal of the driver who was transported by Air Ambulance. Deceased driver was also extricated by SES.

Single truck off embankment - 1 driver deceased - SES on scene for 5 hours pending Police investigation and recovery of Vehicle to facilitate the extrication of the driver.
